GP Lawnmowers was established during August 1978 when Gert Venter (Snr) had the vision to start his own business. It was a one man concern in a very small back corner shop in the Lindhaven Shopping Centre until it grew to big and had to move in 1987 to the than Trek Service Station on Ontdekkers Road (opposite West Ridge High School). It was a family business that strived to provide customer service of the highest quality.

During May 1995 GP Lawnmowers was well enough established and moved to its own business premise at 33 Voortrekker Road. Presently we have 700 square metres of showroom and 300 square metres of a well equipped workshop space. The proud GP Lawnmowers Team consists of 18 full time staff members with 120 years experience in the lawnmower industry. Gert Venter (snr) sadly past away in 2006 but there are still two family members in the business.

We have all the knowledge and experience to advise our customer when buying a lawnmower (domestic or industrial), ride-on mower, brush cutter, chainsaw, trimmer (petrol and electric), blower/vac, chipper, hedge trimmer, generator, welder, engine, spares to all the mentioned machines, garden equipment, insecticides, rotective/safety clothing and “everything else”. We are an approved dealership to well known brand names such as Tandem, Stihl, Active, Briggs & Stratton, Solo, Professional, Robin, Yamaha and Honda.

To conclude – we service what we sell! Our well equipped workshop is quite capable to keep our customers mowing.
